A well-aged Sauvignon Blanc that should be drunk now. Nose has floral and saline notes, pale yellow in color. Full-bodied, with dense tastes of grapefruit, melon, and lime, with sour, almost oily finish. Has a honeyed quality that reminds me of a Semillon. 14.1% alcohol. Drank next to a 2013 Lillie, which was lighter and fresher.
The nose showed orange peel with floral hints, peach, almond and the slightest touch of oak. On the palate it was soft and silky, showing citrus tinged peach with herbs and a hint of kiwi. The finish was long yet clean adding a tart and bitter hint into the mix. I must say that I look forward to each experience that I have with this wine as it's elegant nose pulls you in, it's well polished palate calms your senses, and it's refreshing tart finish keeps you begging for more.
On the nose, I found citrus and lime, floral notes, peach, wet stone and the slightest hint of vanilla. On the palate, this wine seduced me with a rich yet eloquent wash of plush texture and ripe fruit. The acidity was perfectly balanced and kept it fresh and mouth watering, while flavors of peach, lemon curd and saline minerals filled the senses. The finish showed a staying flavor of pineapple on the tongue, while the sweetness slowly faded.
I am very happy to have more of these in my cellar.
