Deep to medium brick red with lighter edges. A bit floral on the nose with earth, cedar and black fruits. Medium tannins (6/10) with a medium minus body. Dry palate with tobacco, smoke, leather and black currants. Medium length finish. Drink now.

No decanting. Drank after finishing pizza. Underwhelmed. Minerally. Harsh. Under-ripe cherries. Flat. Light bodied. Quite some tannins. Didn’t get better with time. In fairness, bottle said best from 2004-10. 2d label. Unrated.

Ageing gracefully and still has some vigour of youth to ensure this is not all dried up fruit and bare structure. Light and soft with balance and some finesse to the fruit - very classical Bordeaux - fans of "Gobs of Fruit" need not look here, but if you like restraint and class and some mineral elements then this is for you. Almost pinot like in in colour, but great persistence on the palate - very linear. Lovely stuff for very little money. Drink now.
