  • Fit in a visit to Temecula on a business trip to San Diego in the summer of 2010. This was what I thought was the best of the several wineries that I had visited that weekend. Dark fruit, a fair amount of decent oak, and some pepper on the nose and palate. Firm tannins on the finish along with some fruit. A definite earthiness that I have to attribute to the Temecula soil/climate. Perhaps worth a visit if in the area, but I would not seek this one out considering the options, especially for the price. PJP 2014.

  • Color is lighter than a typical syrah. almost like a dark pinot.
The nose was initially muted but opened up over an hour or two and became full of blueberries. The same on the palate, lots of blueberries and other dark fruit that I cant put a finger on. On the palate the wine was quite heavy and had almost a light syrupy feel to it. One of the better wines have has from Temecula but that isnt really saying much. Also, per the winery website this bottle is $46 and I personally wouldn't pay any more than $12-15 for it.
