Medium dark reddish garnet in color with ever-so-slight clearing at the edges. Full, forward & aromatic nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, boysenberries & plums with overtones of floral notes of roses & orange rind, earthy/dusty, iron, tar, anise, herbs, minerals & a hint of cedar. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, mulberries & plums, minerals, spices, herbs, iron & a hint of oak in the background. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well presently with decanting & extended airing. Even at 13 years old, it still has potential for further development with additional aging if cellared properly.

Decanted 2 hours and could have used at least double that. Translucent garnet/brown. Nose with cherry, pine, floral notes, black pepper, flint/brass and touch of background oak/vanilla. Palate with fresh, medium weight fruit, zippy acidity and hard-edged tannins. Good persistence and finishing with some mineral. With pork chop and gnocchi the tannins receded considerably and accented the cherry flavors, enhancing both the wine and the food. Charming wine that’s built for the table.

This wine stole my hart; gentle, elegant, a very subtle bouquet, perfumed and it continued in the taste. The finish was nearly atypical for Barolo, with a very good balance between the fruit and body of the wine on the one hand and the decent wood and elegant tannins on the other hand; that's the way I like Barolo (but hard to find).

Good fruit foundation; however, a little over extracted.

Quite nice Barolo, still hard tannins and 3-5 years will make good for this wine.
