First bottle in about 4 years. Poured about 45 minutes prior to pairing with homemade lasagna. This was a perfect pairing and the time in bottle has been good for this wine. Aromatically this presents soft floral notes, tar, smoke, cherry and some anise. While dry this has enough acid to provide good lift, and works well with the meal. A persistent finish that coats the palate with tar, anise, dry herbs, and black licorice. Great cut on the palate with the tar really extending.
This presents a great value in a solid vintage.
Day 2 this has shed the tannic dryness with more savory herbs. 90-91
Well done.
Drink or hold.

Faded but still mighty good. Nose a bit maturized but excellent flavor. Great with short rib lasagna. Glad I inherited a few bottles of this

Bricked color with muted aromas. Fully mature with resolved tannin. Not worth holding any longer. Drink up.
Day 2 - A bit more savory with half the bottle overnight.

Lighter in color. Cherry, earth and tar nose. Cherry flavors. Much better than a few years ago. Used for Barolo risotto
