  • Decanted shortly before dinner. Drank much better than the 98. Good nose and texture. Even better 2nd night, great sour cherry flavor, and better savoury finish.

  • Did a pop and pour. This came out of the gates rocking with a really deep nose of plums, sandlewood, roses, wet forest floor, and smoke.
The initial palate mirrored the nose very deep and complex with classic Oregon plum and dark cherries, spicy oak, minerals and a complex finish
of tobacco and tea which gave way to tart cherries. Smooth and seemless.

This wine appeared to be on it's way to being a really great bottle until about 30-45 minutes in when it started to fall apart. The nose shut down
and the finish started to fade. The fruit came across as being stewed and the minerality really took over. I will say the first 30 minutes of this wine
was a 93+ experience. Overall a really fun bottle.

  • Much superior to my last bottle. Dark, earthy black cherry supported by a wall of minerals and fine tannins. Wonderful loamy perfume with compelling sous bois to balanced the savory fruit component.

  • Black-red in color with a very faint hint of bricking towards the edge. Medium plus body. Nose started out with some VA which blew off to reveal a mature core of focused black cherry with sweet earth scents and flavors and a hint of forest floor and smoky char. Nose became very perfumed after a couple hours.

Palate has the same focused black cherry although it is drier and has notes of bittersweet chocolate. Very pure earth flavors with some sandalwood in the background. Finish is long with nicely balanced acidity carrying the sweet spice and fruit interwoven with tannins which are smooth now but still present. This seems like it is hitting it's sweet spot but could go another 3-5 years.

  • Abundant fruit and a rich nose, all red berries, but not overpoweringly fruit forward. The color was lighter than I expected. Very good backbone to the wine, giving it the structure to go well with steak and other red meats. Much better than expected.
