This has really evolved since previous tasting. Tannin has resolved quite a bit, continues to change in the glass over the course of the evening, no barnyard this time, tobacco instead, knitting together nicely.
Smakstart pĺ Sturköbaren: Complex, developed nose, with a reassuringly traditional expression. Stemmy notes of tobacco and spice, dark-spectrum fruit, hints of iodine, meat and rusty iron, plus very light brett with band-aid, leather and farmyard aromas. Harmonious and elegant on the palate, with the power and structure from a great vintage. Drinks really well already, and will keep. de Montille's classical style usually hits our sweet-spot.
The nose is not very intense even after 5 hours of decantation.
Coffee, tannins, a lot of cherrries, black currant and dark rasberries. Some bitter oak that is not integrated yet. This wine is still tight and the flavorprofile is a bit boring even though the wine is completely open.
