  Hazy ruby, fading a bit at the rim. A showy and deep nose offers aromas of dried black fruits, dried violets, truffles, vanilla and toast. Medium+ bodied on the palate with medium acidity, this is rich but not fat with slightly muddied flavors of overripe black fruit and vanilla.

  At M's for a post Xmas dinner. Very dark red. Extremely sweet nose. Thank goodness this had some age, I could just imagine in its infancy, this wine probably had an overdose of vanilla, oak and dark fruit. Hints of sandalwood, ripe sweet cherries, blackcurrants and leather. On the palate, decent structure, but was a little short on the mid palate. You could still feel the hints of wood, oak and vanilla cream, but a little more resolved with age. Sweet cherries, violets and dried cranberries. A good wine, but the style was not really my cup of tea.
