Double decant, split over 2 days. Full bodied, notes of blackberry pie, redcurrant jelly, rich and spicy and a velvety texture sporting soft tannins. Bought 2 in 2010 - with cork. Wish I hadn't sold the other. A very classy refined wine.

The nose is oddly flat: a little cherry/dried cherry, caramel, a whiff of latte, but all very, very subtle. On the palette, it is heaven. Cleverly mouth feel. Incredible structure. Dark cherry, boysenberry, blackberry and plum, espresso, crème brûlée, a hint of pine. Long on the palette. Tannins perfectly integrated. This is at its peak. I would not wait.

Strong raison on the nose and palette. Bing cherry on the front palette and a light tapioca on the mid-palette. A warm and velvety finish. The group was divided: some preferred this over the 2008 for the depth and mouth feel. Others preferred the 2007 for the bright fruit and greater diversity in the palette.

Was this the last of the screw tops from Plumpjack? Decanted for 2 hours. Still a very dark purple. Wonderful nose of dark fruits and a bit of tobacco and leather. Perfectly balanced on the palette. I have just one bottle left and will be looking for more.

Multiple tastings with consistent notes. Too fruity for some, I love it.
