Opened at the 4S in HK. P&P and served in small pours to many guests.
Probably a mistake to P&P, but it just wasn't that kind of occasion to plan in advance too much. Still, this was performing really well and was a great change from the many wonderful Burgundies of the evening. This bottle felt like in that secondary stage between being fresh and primary versus becoming very earthy and having its tannins fully resolved. A very enjoyable Latour and thanks to E for sharing - this was a big hit with all the winemakers we were drinking this with.

Not much signs of aging, dark red. Nice nose. Decanted and drank over 2 hours. Smooth, deep but not particularly complex. My 2nd time with a 1st growth. While not a great vintage I was expecting more. I've had better bordeaux and bordeaux-like supertuscan's, Almaviva, etc., for a lot less $. Honestly based on this I'd spend more time investigating lesser known names that aren't overhyped and much more affordable. While a good vintage might be a lot better I doubt it's worth the money.

(Château Latour Grand Vin) Dark garnet red color; rich berry, cassis nose; gorgeous, rich, berry, cassis palate, more subtle than the Lafite, and nearly drinkable now; medium-plus finish
(Château Latour Grand Vin) Tight leather nose; very tight on palate, with tart plum and red fruit, concentration, sweet tannins, needs another 7 years plus; medium-plus finish 89+ pts.
