a sweet, sappy nose of (mostly red pinot fruit (showing real purity) mixed with anise, plum and a touch of dusty oak and peppercorn spices. Precise and linear on the palate but with great generosity of fruit with a touch of well integrated tannin in the background. As ample and powerful as this is, this is an '09 that remains light on its feet. More spice driven and Vosne-like. Very well crafted and complete
Smells like squished up strawberries with some floral perfume. It has a L'Arlotesqueness about it as it is Nuits at the fragrance and elegant end of the spectrum. It is plush and creamy in the mouth and has a gentle snap of tart berries and slightly bitter hint of juniper to the finish.
