Canada v. California Showdown: One of only 3 wines in the Canada/California blind tasting which was outclassed by the other bottles. There was some talk that this might be corked but the consensus was that it was not (2 voters liked it very much and made it their #1 wine of the flight). Crimson color with long legs. Notes of caraway seed, soy and berry. Rather sweet upfront but otherwise I found it to be one dimensional. Finished flat. Medium-full bodied. 82 points.

California vs Canada: Initial aroma in one of stewed tomatoes, followed by an herbal/sage note. Cherries and stewed tomatoes on the palate. My 4th, group 4th.

Amazing. A lot of complexity. Fruit and savory. Loved it.

Just delicious with its lush mouthfeel of chocolate and blueberries, and its long, lingering finish. Sorry that I have no more.
