Beautiful ludens cherries with flowers, camphor, tannins that become more prominent & chewy with air, leather, medium acidity, noticeable minerality & some nicely Intregrated oak on the finish in a full body. This wine has gotten much bigger after 3 hours or so & has further aging potential. A steal for the roughly 40 bucks I paid for it back in the day. I have a few left & may offer these to customers

Really nice, decanted 1 hour, evolved nicely during dinner and after, so plenty of time for this to develop. Rich red fruit, cherry, earth, mineral, wood, tar backdrop, tannin that is noticeable but not overpowering. Good balance that improved with air. Lovely nose, some light floral elements but mostly the darker notes highlighting the fruit. Served with rack of lamb, braised fennel/radicchio, potatoes.

In an early drinking window, to me who has only limited experience with mature nebbiolo. Impressive intensity while remaining fresh with its good acidity, and drinkable with its tannins probably a bit ground down with early maturity. Impressive first encounter with a Sottimano Barbaresco.
