Cork was not in great shape, but I doubt it affected the wine. Bold, rich, ripe red fruit up front. Depth at mid palate seemed to fade and so the length was not great. Soft tannins helps the overall experience which was really good. one more bottle...we will see what that brings.
Washington Wine Trip; 6/15/2012-6/19/2012: Tasting room pour. Black cherry and black currant on the nose, same on palate w/minerality, licorice, med+ finish, needs 3 years, drink for following 10. Nice juice!
Friends and I tasted this at the Woodinville tasting room on 6/2/12. It had a deep, rich and alluring bouquet of black currant, black cherry, plum, anise, spice and mocha aromas. The palate was ripe, smooth and balanced with flavors that followed the nose. 91+
Deep crimson; intense blackcurrant on nose, with just a hint of cigarbox. Complex blend of fruit flavours and firm tannins leading into a beautifully structured finish. Hedonistic. Almost a shame to drink it now, but a couple of years will amply repay the wait
