Medium-dark ruby. Expressive nose of read and black fruit with some chocolate and a good dose of spices, vanilla and oak. On the palate this wine has a lot of volume and structure for this price class. Tannins are soft but as with all 2010 I would really wait for 8-10 years before starting to drink this, not only will the structure soften but also more aromas will develop. Good QPR here.
(Decanter's Bordeaux '05, '09, '10 tasting) :: Quite closed, tight and compact, but excellent structure and balance, showing a nice complexity of earth and leathery notes already. Tannins are still huge and need several years to fully integrate, I think. A lot of potential here, but not easy to judge given how tight, closed and tannic it is.
Decanted and served blind. Not much on the nose, but this was great when tasted. Young, velvety, big, sizable tannins, and lots of potential were my notes. I'd love to try this again in five years. Enjoyable and tasty. 92/93
pnp. passed thru vinturi to open it up. cork perfect. color opaque garnet with crimson edges. nose shows dark dark fruits, almost meaty aroma with pencil shavings. swishing shows considerable structure, mostly tannin but good acid, and a dense fairly weighty midpalate and finish that goes on and on. sipping shows off the balance, with spicy plum and dark berry fruits in wonderful harmony with the structure. great mouthfeel and lengthy luscious finish. left 1/4 bottle open on counter and 2 days later going strong. didn't really soften much at all.
