This wine was a light rose red with a purple edge. The nose was a musty, earthy nose that was not appealing. The taste was acidic followed by a bright fruit flavor with a heavy mineral component. The finish was an unpleasant earthy, heavy smooth taste the just hung on the tongue. I tasted the wine over several days and no improvement was noticed; I do not believe the wine had gone bad -- just a strange wine.

Turns out it is an organic/biodynamic winery out of Oregon and for the most part when I see a US winery playing with the biodynamic I get a little queasy ... I just don't think they have it quite down pat yet ... it's just too new to them. Anyway, I did not know this about the wine before I sipped at it, I found the wine incredibly earthy with hints of vegetation that were not all together pleasant. That's when I inspected the bottle and thought I would try to give it the benefit of the doubt. Next up on the nose and palate was a mushroom-iness ... after about 45 minutes to an hour I began to find some fruit. First came cranberry then a little later some sour cherry came by for a stay ... and thankfully the earthy, mushroom and vegetation took a back seat. Was this my favvourite Pinot ever ... not really ... but it did come across better in an hour than it did from the start. As for the pizza, not bad at all.

Developing nicely. Was too jammy at release (true of most Maysara releases), now less jammy and more balanced. No shortage of fruit, benefits from opening for an hour or two.

A very refined and elegant representation of Pinot Noir, light cranberry in color, translucent and clear. The nose of this McMinnville AVA wine is cranberry, floral essences, loam and forest floor. The palate shows sweet yet tart fruit, layers of slightly vanilla flavors with a nice acidic and tannic finish. Let this wine catch some air before tasting, it's young and improves immensely over several minutes. Goes well with lighter fair and light moods.

Completely delicious. Not especially complex, but fruity, lower alcohol and quite pleasant.
