Library Release. The cork disintegrated when attempting to remove it, but my concern was unfounded. The wine was medium garnet in color with low viscosity. There was no sediment in the bottle. Despite the vintage, the bouquet had hints of strawberry and cherry. The taste brought to mind a cherry Jolly Rancher. The body was light to medium with a smooth texture and a relatively short, slightly acidic finish.
This was my last bottle of this wine and it was a great way to start the new year.

Still drinkable, but this bottle didn't have much fruit in it. It was clearly past its best days with more than a hint of, "I'm going bad; you should have opened me two or three years ago." Still, you could detect what likely was at one time something complex and beautiful.

Library Release. The cork disintegrated upon opening, so I was concerned, but this was a delightful wine. I had another 2001 that was well beyond its prime, but this one, my last 2001, held up impressively well. Hints of fruit and an admirable level of complexity remain. This wine had an easy mouthfeel. After a long week, this made my Friday.
Cork was intact, Cole was heavily bricked, nearly translucent, nose was less than desirable. First note was very slight fruit but tart. Earthy, reminiscent of barnyard. Not horrible but agree with others, best days are in the past.

Way past it’s time. Still drinkable but no reason to force issue. Best option, open, let sit for 2 hours, then pour down drain.
