Golden straw color, brilliant clarity. aromas of subtle floral, accents of pear, green apple and lychee, hints of fresh citrus, nicely balanced, luxurious mouthfeel with refreshing nice, crisp acidity,
It is fun to see this evolve over the years. What was on release, pretty bright with grapefruit and citrus has evolved to a more complex, mature wine. Medium straw color. A hint of a floral nose. Less citrus but more pear and lychee. Still a nice touch of acidity but nicely balanced. Still one bottle left but seems like it is time to drink this.

A long time go to Chardonnay. Pale straw color. Not much of a nose but plenty of peach and pear on the palate. A hint of citrus and a nice touch of oak on the finish. Crisp, clean and not over oaked. Great early evening accompaniment to an assortment of cheeses, artisan crackers and green and black olives.

This is perennially our favorite Chardonnay from California. We have had 7 vintages from 2007 through 2013 in the cellar. What we have learned is that Fantesca's Chardonnay is not built to have the longevity of their Spring Mtn. Cabernet. The '07 is gone now and we have one bottle left of the '08. This bottle of the '09 while very pleasant is mellowing and has seen much of the bright grapefruit and lemon zest notes which we love, evolve into a softer peach and lychee tone. Time to drink this and move on to the 2010. Still a lovely bottle with a light lunch.
