So I knew this was baby-killing, but the wine I'd wanted to bring for the Dallas offline event fell apart at last minute and I'd kindof had me heart set on drinking one of these. Got the restaurant a bit early and had it decanted immediately which meant it was drunk prob 2-2.5 hours after. It is a great wine, but it is also just on the young side. Still get some of the lavendar and floral. Felt a bit more intense and heavy compared to the northern rhone right before. and while it was delicious, there was something not totally connected here. A flavor right towards the end that was a bit odd. Still enjoyed though.
2009 Beaucastel Cuvee Jacques Perrin : First impact is great, full dimensions, massive nose of dark fruits and flowers crushed, full body, very delicious, good hidden acidity with the powerful finish. Woooww... After 2 hours, it's showing the elegant side that's telling us about the future and it must be a very very beautiful like Burgundy feeling with CdP texture when it's at its peak. A truly great wine !!
