  • Really delicious !!
I agree with my tasting note of almost 4 months ago. Rating one tick higher.
Perfect composite cork, easily removed. Consumed over two days, did not fade, maybe even got better on day two. Sadly, this was my last bottle of the vintage, I wish I had more. Not surprisingly, great winemaking from Greg Brewer.

  • In a great spot, this wine is tasting extremely good right now !!
The composite cork was perfect after over a decade in the bottle. I consumed this balanced Pinot Noir over two days. Deep ruby color with no oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of pomegranate and cherry, flavors of cranberry, cherry cola, rhubarb, and black tea with a pleasant medium to long finish. Popped and poured, this wine really benefited from gentle oxygen since it was much more soft & integrated on day two. Great fruit with firm acidity made into a very balanced Pinot Noir from Sandy’s Block on the estate Vineyard in the Santa Rita Hill appellation of Santa Barbara County. The Sandy’s block is named in honor of Ron Melville’s sister and was deliberately planted on the extremely sandy northwest section of our east vineyard. Sandy’s has performed heroically over the years particularly when considering its extreme location combined with the poor, well drained soils of this section. This block also contains clonal material representative of our new era of plantings and includes selections from Calera (Clone 90) and clones 37, 459 and 114. This Pinot Noir is an age worthy wine and may have more years of life remaining. Fortunately, I still have another bottle of this vintage remaining in my cellar to revisit this year. A great winemaking effort from Greg Brewer.

  • Big and bold Cali Pinot, this wine was ripe and blueberry-fruited. Fat and sassy, nothing truly noteworthy for what I like in a Pinot. Actually pulled it out with some Cabs to enjoy with steak tonite. Fit right in. Drink now through 2018+.

  • Very fruit forward. Has developed well in bottle over the past 18 months or so. Lush, rich, dark berries strong elements of raspberry.

  • Vindredi (Bellevue, WA): Tasted blind. Baking spice and heat on the nose. Big cherries on the body. Ripe style, not much depth or complexity.
