From an excellent looking bottle, this wine had a deep yellow/ light gold center and clear rims. The medium intensity nose featured white stone, pear, lemon, apple, and some petroleum jelly notes in the background.
In the mouth, this had a bit of a hole in the center for the first hour or two of air. Afterward, it developed a great ripeness and acidity. It was not rich but gorgeously balanced for food.
This needed 4+ hours of air to show its best. The nose was more dramatic than the mouth which was fairly serious. This will easily last 10+ years.

Honeyed, fruity, light-med wt, shows some age in softness and development, but still crisp and nicely balanced. Good despite the years, a lovely old riesling. [ny-daniels]

Now this was an interesting bottle of booze. The nose was incredible - restrained Riesling notes that were semi-sweet and semi-tarte. The palate was a touch funky - I wouldn't say spoiled but definately not at its peak. Nevertheless I managed to knock back 3 glasses - minerals, terroir, earth and loamy.

27 years old. Half bottle. Regrettably, but unsurprisingly, undrinkable. Heavily oxidized. Headed for the vinegar vat.

1/2 bottle. Sherry/oxidation notes. Darkening. Past prime. But still quite drinkable. (Cork in fantastic shape by the way.)
