  • Busy restaurant purchase. Wine was fabulous... I think it could have been better had the Sommelier not stirred up the sediment when opening. Grrrrr. My fault. Should know better!
    Deep red/garnet, even purplish. Opaque.
Blackberry, chocolate, dried plums and more on the nose.
Rich and full bodied with white pepper, toasty vanilla layered and "thick" on the palate.
Tannins have resolved into this gem.
At this point in it's life, there's an earthiness to it.
The finish, 45 seconds, and we were wanting more... only to hear "that was the last bottle".
    Boo!!! 🤣

  • From a magnum. Soundly sleeping. This needs a lengthy decant, or better yet, several more years. The black cherry notes were buried beneath an unyielding tightness that firmly compacted the flavor notes into more of a bitter chocolate profile. I also detected a bit of pepper and charcoal.

  • Ready to drink I would say. Enjoyed it over 2 nights. Farmyard aromas. Nice structure.

  • Medium ruby. A very savory and somewhat somber nose offers aromas of ripe black cherry, trampled violets, burnt chocolate, baked topsoil, dried tobacco leaves, and oak spice. Medium bodied on the palate with medium+ acidity and tight, regal tannins. Like many other '10s in this tier, this is drinking reasonably well right now, but feels like it just needs another couple years to uncoil.
