14.2% alcohol. Really enjoyed this - Impresses for its balance, structure, restraint, and complexity with blackberry, black licorice, violets, smoked meat, black pepper, and a suggestion of earth/game. Seems less overtly ripe, round, or polished than some of the other Carlisle syrah's I have tried. Recommended.
Perfectly pleasant and low alc for Mike officer. Yet this didn't show a whole lot of syrah characteristics. I wonder if zin is just in the air over there, because that's what I would have guessed blind. Smoky meaty raspberry concord grapey, but mostly just nondescript fermented grape juice. Not bad but this guy is a zin guy and that's what I should be buying.
Just drinking great even with a short decant. Lots of upside over the coming 5 years and then should hold for at least another 5 years. So happy I have four more left to see how this excellent wine evolves over the coming years.
