As before, put almost the whole btl in a coq au vin, but had a few sips. This is not drinking well at all. Tired, stripped down, acidic, lean and mean. This wine was never good, and has not aged well of course. For cooking, however, just fine.

Served from magnum. The very first notes while tasting prior to serving showed elements of petroleum and terpintine with underlying ripe red fruits. After being opened for 30 minutes the wine was served along side mushroom stuffed Cornish game hen and roasted brussels sprouts with walnuts. The wine is very dark for a Bourgogne. As it opened in the glass and through out the meal the ripe red fruits bloomed and were complimented by the present dark minerality. Towards the end of the three hours that the bottle was opened the minerality faded and was replaced by distinct cedar box aromas. All in all this was a very nice wine from a good producer and a great vintage.

Nice and expressive nose, robust dark plum and cherry with good supporting spice. Fairly lean to medium concentration on the palate, with good strong acids, iron, and the dark red fruit is also well represented. Good amount of tannin and heft here for a BR. This really outperformed expectations. Good to drink now or over the next five years easily. The nose really resonated with me, complex, with depth of flavor and savory elements. Paired well with rib eye.

Has improved over the last bottle 3+ years ago. More depth and better finish. Curious to see if there's more room for improvement in the future.
