A contribution of mine on NYE, tasted amidst about 70 other offerings. Classy and elegant with abundant mousse, good body, leesy under fine fruit and mineral, and with appropriate seam of oxidation.

Another excellent bottle of this. Round, mature, elegant and full of finesse, this is showing beautiful complexity and class. Just a touch of oxidation starting to sneak in. Time to drink up. What a beauty.

Straw color very tiny bubbles. Maybe it was the bottle but felf a bit flat on the finish. Nose of chalk, stone, citrus, very mineral, fresh, crisp and extremely well delineated. Lovely with food or on its own. Nice finish but a bit short.

(Pierre Péters "Cuvée Spéciale" Les Chétillons Brut) ($119.00) The ’04, just disgorged for the first time, has marvelously incisive aromas, not as animal as the ’02, more lacy and filigree; the palate seemed minty and stern, but I was told it would receive a splish more dosage (yay!) to ameliorate its iron and nettle profile. Length it has in spades. The ’02, what can one say? It’s deeply vinous and a doughy unruly beast. I adore it, and am happy y’all snuggled up to this meaty little guy. If you own any of the ’00, it’s in its chicory, espresso and chocolate stage, and is insanely delicious.

I really loved this. Beautiful nose with tertiary notes but not too oxidative. Deleniates palate, delicate, good density. Very grand.

ESTG Year-End Tasting (Newcastle, WA): Left me sort of flat. Really stressing the acid but not a lot of depth or complexity.
