Opaque purple, no bricking or other signs of age. Nose of dust, licorice, and blackberry pie, very promising. Didn't really deliver on the palate, though. Refined and well-integrated, just light in the flavor department, even a little watery, with a short finish. Disappointing considering the cost, producer, and bottle age.

Delicious. Well blended, mostly Bordeaux grapes. Remember having this in the tasting room 5 years ago and enjoying it, but have to believe it is in a better spot now. A little tar, menthol on the nose. Plump and juicy in the mouth, everything is connected. Medium finish.

Day 1 in Woodinville (Woodinville, WA): The nose was a bit hot with dense purple fruit and baking spices. Palate had nice dark fruit, more baking spices and blueberries. Thought this was more enjoyable than the 2006 - much less heat on the palate.

Very good washington syrah. Great taste without the barnyard flavor so many people give critical acclaim to in WA syrah.
