  Popped and poured and still drinking like a young wine. Took quite some time to fully open, but then blueberries, blackberries and a hint of leather. Smooth finish. I did get some alcohol early, but as the fruit came out the wine came into better balance. Should have decanted, but brilliant bottle all the same.

  A nose of dark fruits and spices, dark garnet in color. A full bodied red with blackberry, blueberry, some chocolate and spies on long finish, still need a short decant, was very good. www.winelx.com

  Very dark and surprisingly purple-tinged for a ten-year-old wine, the nose on this was faint at first, but after about 30 minutes opened up to beautiful dark cherries, cassis, and blackberry reduction. Those fruit-forward characteristics were evident on the palate, but with some nice secondary notes of leather and saddle soap. Silky smooth on the palate, I did not get the excessive alcohol notes mentioned elsewhere. This came across to me as a solid, quality Napa Cabernet, right on par with many in this price range. It was frankly more exciting than I was expecting. An excellent choice for a Friday night.

  Much more impressed with this wine now than when I last tasted it a year ago. Nose of dark cherry and spice but with a higher than normal alcohol smell. Great legs and a soft purple color with just the slightest brink tinge to the rim. Nice fruity flavor with good oak and soft tannins leading to a longer finish than I expected. Overall a really good wine and would have scored higher except for the higher alcohol smell and taste. Had it been just a bit better integrated into the wine it would be a blockbuster at this stage. Drinking remaining 5 bottles in next year or two at most.
