Dang, went against my self-imposed rule of drinking all Syrah only on PnP. When I first tasted, yes it was a tad harsh but wildly interesting. And the nose was mind-boggling...fruity and aromatic. After two hours of air the tannic bite was gone and it was super smooth, but overall it was less compelling than it was on opening. Still, loved the notes of iron and pepper here along with really dark fruit. The 2016 version of this is, so far, the best Syrah I've ever had. If you can, put that vintage in your collection. All in all, this was really good, but, again, not consuming on PnP, dang.

Somehow, this manages to be both restrained and spectacular. Plenty of fruit on the nose and the palate. Surprising lack of heat. Moderate tannins provide structure and balance. Fruit lasts on the finish.
This is in a great spot now, but feels like it's got more time at this level, which is good, since I have another bottle.

Similar to my last notes. Beautifully composed wine. Feminine and delightful. Dark fruit, earthy and no heat despite 15% etoh. Long long clean finish. Touch gamy and iron-y. Captivating aroma. Really enjoyed. Never faltered in more than 5 hours from opening to finishing the bottle. Sadly my last bottle.

Day 1 it was big and showing too much oak
Day 2 glorious Syrah
Intoxicated by the complex nose and mouthfeel

Much different than several years ago. Northern Rhône profiles. No jam or lush fruit. Very complex. Ready to go with a few years left. Wow!
