  • Impressive bottle of Marques de Haro and still very young. Fine and elegant and definitely not a typical rioja but it would drive way more for a bordalese style of wine.

  • We decanted the wine for 45 minutes before we poured the first glasses and followed its development over the course of the evening. The wine was medium to dark garnet in colour and offered red fruit, strawberry, peanut, leather, tobacco, some cocoa and vanilla on the nose. On the palate the wine showed red fruit, tobacco, coffee, cocoa, spices and vanilla, with medium to medium-plus acidity, smooth, medium-level tannin, a good, smooth mouthfeel and very good length. The medium-bodied, balanced, appetizing wine drank very well. Modern yet classic, if that makes any sense to you, and unmistakably Rioja. A great wine!
