Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Opened and there were tartrate crystals saturating the cork, and running all the way down the inside neck of the bottle. And not stuck to anything, just sitting there loose and wet. More crystals than I've ever seen in any bottle of wine.

Wine seems a bit flabby and unbalanced. Really no tannin, and seems like very little acid left suspended within the wine, but also no real fruit either. Just a hint of bitter stone fruit at the middle of the palate. Very little nose as well. Can't really point to a "flaw," but the wine seems to be sort of cooked and off. Believe something major had to occur for it to throw so much acid. Will chalk it up to a flawed bottle, rather than flawed winemaking.
