Outstanding!!! A fellow Burgundy collector and I enjoyed this wine together and were in awe how sensational it was. Absolutely no signs of premox. Fully integrated, harmonious, and beautiful with no one dominating characteristic. A wine of extreme elegance, fully mature, that delivered an emotionally moving experience. Wow wine!

No sign of pox. Nose is correct, but dominated by oak. In the mouth, site characteristics also blurred by oak and notably lactic. Light to medium body, moderate acid, light fruit and decent length. Oak does not subside much with an hour's air. Hard to imagine this will become better integrated.

A Corky, Quirky Evening (Nopa, San Francisco): Medium yellow. Intrusive oak that robs this of the Perrieres rockiness and clips the finish. This only gets worse over time. Some '96 acidity comes through, but this is not enough to carry the wine through the lumber.

White Burgundy - Blind Tasting of 24+ wines from 1996 and 2000: Tasted single blind. Honey, a note of bay leaf, smoke and minerals. Assertive inthe mouth, with some evidence of oak, as well as more of what you would expect from the nose - minerals, smoke. Good structure, though still softer than the first wine in the flight (1996 Sauzet Puligny Champ Canet). Nice harmony on the finish.

No oxidation! Lemon gold colour, very clean and fresh, very youthful on the nose. Huge acidity and fresh stone, great mineral quality, sweet richness to the finish. Needs time but very good. After 3 hours shows a depth and richness that wasn't there earlier, very good, one to keep.
