A little less intense and focused than our previous bottle. Dark fruits with blackberry and maybe a hint of blueberry. Nice granit and cured meat notes as well. Maybe a touch hollow on the mid palate. Seemed to me that this bottle showed the vintage much more than the previous one. Still a very good Cornas.
Wonderful wine. Classic syrah, lighter than usual because of the vintage bit it gives the wine an incredible elegance. Mineral, floral with a touch of black olives. Drinking beautifully right now. Who's the idiot who said there was no great wine in 2002 in the Rhone?!!
Astoundingly rounded and supple, chock full of black olive tapenade and hints of leather. Just gorgeous at this point and ready for prime time. A real treat, glorious alongside lamb loin chops. To hate this wine or to declare it DOA is to proudly brandish a fatal misunderstanding of Rhône wines in general.
