not sure if it was a bit off? slight hint of oxidation with raisiny/pruny taste. note had some tropical fruit, medium weight but that raisiny taste was a bit hard to get over.. just ok..85 pts or so if it's normal.. but i think it might be slightly flawed.
On the nose, this wine is extremely expressive for the varietal. Cantaloup, lemon sorbet, lavender, apricot, honeycomb and peach cobbler all waft gently from the glass. The palate is about as soft and velvety as a wine can be. For a new world wine it is surprisingly subtle. It is intriguing and seductive.
While clearly a well made wine with aspirations of excellence, I found this over-honeyed to the point of being cloyingly sweet. The wine also lacked the acidity that would let it stand up to food. All perfume and no oomph, I'm afraid...
