Somehow this got buried, so just now with a 1st taste with no idea how it was younger. Shy nose initially (too chilled) opens to creamy fruits with a touch of butter and oak, a bit light on acid for a foodie, no ox. Quite pleasant, surprised me at 11 y.o.

Starting to show signs of oxidation but still enjoyable. Notes fairly similar to last time with a little less floral on the nose and a little more white pepper on the palate. Also some elevated minerality.

Not much fruit left. Floral notes on the nose, some light citrus zest on the entry. The Marsanne and Roussanne kick in on the mid-palate, adding roundness to the mouthfeel of the wine. Some baker's yeast throughout and a touch of white pepper on the finish. Also detected some minerality. Still interesting but on the decline. Started to fall apart after 30 minutes in the glass.

Oak, or whatever bitterness I am detecting, is not welcome. Fruit seems muted, starting to wonder if the bottles I purchased were flawed. Drinkable, dumping down the drain was never a consideration.

Good fruit features but even though I found out that this only saw neutral oak, the oak still seems to be the dominant element. This is made by Sextant, apparently the latest Parker Paso darling.
