US tasting #7 brick colour on the edge, deep red, massive nose, cherries, ink, sweet aromas, some red berries. Round, light and smooth mouth feel, elegant wine with a slightly jammy feeling but not over the top. Italian style merlot, really nice!

Dark ruby color. Jammy nose of cherries. Tastes of black cherry, anise, white pepper, earth, and chocolate. Noticeable tannins. A bit tart on the rich finish.

The wine is a beautiful burgundy-a bit darker and heavier than most merlot. The nose is berry with a light hint of chocolate. This wine explodes with berry, vanilla, some light spice and medium oak. The tannins are very light with a great mouthfeel. We drank this wine before its drinking window. It will continue to mature for at least five years.

Close to the 1997 in rating. Opened up nicely after about an hour. Really nice Napa Merlot. I think it is worthy rival to Merryvale's Cabernet.

Big and tasty but not a special occasion wine by any stretch. Their cab is dramatically better.
