Beautiful golden color. Sweet lime, fresh pineapple skin, overripe apricot and nectarine flavors, with ripe papaya developing after some time. Also a touch of honey. Ripe but well delineated, with some minerality and rather good acidity that helps with the balance. Enjoyable if not earth-shattering, and very reasonably priced. 90-91

(Chateau Doisy-DaŽne (Barsac)) Residual sugar 139 g/l. This is beautifully expressive, showing great depth, all honeyed pineapple with cream at the moment. It has a very fine texture, with a remarkable depth, substance and grip to it. There is a botrytis concentration that totally dominates the feel in the mouth. This is all polish and substance, but with a relaxed nature that carries its grip with ease. And as we might expect from Doisy-Daëne, there is a wonderfully vibrant, crunchy, acid backbone to it as well. This is a fabulous effort.
