Dave's Super Tasting (3 of 6) (Dave's House): Visually more transparent than the Comte Armand served before it with just a little bricking. It evolved rapidly in the glass. Nose of minerals, cinnamon, and was very red fruited: strawberry, cherry, cranberry.
Super Tasting 3 of 6; Dave Does a Mixed Bag (Dave's House): Popped and poured, followed approximately 1.5 hours. Translucent ruby in the glass, with a slight brick. A lovely nose of red fruits; raspberry, strawberry, pomegranate; baking spice, earth, mineral, grated ginger, spearmint, sea air, slightly herbal, akin to cilantro, and a slight touch of wood. On the palate, much more light and less concentrated than the Comte Armand, but certainly a welcome change. Finishes moderate with a slight tannic grip. Not a show stopper, but a well crafted, immensely enjoyable wine.
