Austere on the open but with a half hour it showed earthy blackberry and coffee; balanced with integrated tannins that still had a lot to give in the future; the nose and the finish are this wine - outstanding.
Dark brick red with distinct mature sound. bouquet: again cassis, old leather, a little mint and chocolate, coffee later and earthy notes. palate: it's all there! elegance, finesse, structure, red berry fruit, strawberry, leather, chocolate, mint and even eucalyptus. medium body, nice fruit sweet, barely noticeable tannins, very delicate acid, fully ripe. long finish, great, fantastic wine
brilliant. air didnt hurt it, it decanted several hours. as good a bottle of pichon lalande as ive had. i love that these bottles from the "off" years are so good. this is the third or fourth 1976 ive had and loved.
