Opened very gamey then settled into a lovely balance of lemon curd, biscuit, and bitter soda finish. I would have given this a 92 or even higher but at times the finish was a bit short and a bit too dry for my taste but usually it was compelling (15+ seconds) so 91 for now and perhaps 92 after the rest of the new case settles down...

Glyndebourne picnic - (Eugene Onegin). Two magnums specially acquired to show off to my predominantly German and S African fellow opera buffs. They were suitably impressed! Gently frothing mousse. Aroma of apple and pear, very ripe on the palate with an added hint of aromatic exotic fruit and excellent acidity to hold the wine in perfect balance. Good both on its own and with canapés. A pointe now and for perhaps another 1-2 years. Very fine.

Excellent Nyetimber, right at its peak. Delicate mousse, creamy lemon and pear, gentle rounded finish.

From magnum, delicious, soft, longish - but surprisingly mature for this format.

Similar notes to last time, except this bottle was a bit more sweet and voluptuous. Last glass shut down hard with significant acidity.
