Delicious, dark, dank, crushed raspberries heightened by vanillin-infused creaminess, and grounded with briar, bramble and earth . Nice detail from the good acids, and an adequate dry finish keep this from being sloppy, and Mike's deft hand lends complexity, nuance and especially laser like focus for such big, ripe fruit. Lush, ripe, precise, extroverted, very well made sexy beast!
P&P. Firing on all cylinders now, this Papera I can say with confidence, is in the zone. The fruit and new wood are in perfect balance, great definition, supporting notes of spices, and some floral aspects that were not present two years ago. While I cannot see improvement, this does some good underlying structure to hold the fort for a few years yet.
