  • Decanted for 4 hrs but was popping even upon opening. Lots of body, sweet dark fruits mixed with stony flinty gravel notes, very fragrant, nice acidity, with lovely 30 second finish, fabulous with filets.

  • Double decanted for 1 hour, deep ruby, black cherries on the nose & palate, med/firm tannins, long finish; outstanding, but judging from my experience with the 04, likely not yet at peak & would have benefitted from a longer decant or more time, drink or preferably hold

  • Two hour double decant. Deep dark ruby color. Black cherry, slate, sage, pepper, vanilla drizzle, and mushroom. Satiny, slightly tongue drying palate, with fine piercing acidity. Plush tannins on the long finish. 69% CS, 14% Merlot, 11% CF, 6%PV

This was amazing and possibly slightly past its peak for my palate. The score is real, which means I loved this, so don’t misinterpret the preceding sentence. This was rich, effusive, and elegant. In some ways, this drank younger than it was. jsmorris707 was kind enough to bring this to dinner with Mark1NPT and our lady friends. So fun…

  • Brought by Joel to Fleming's tonight....one hour double decant.

Dark magenta/purple in the glass and glass staining, it is.

Nose of powerful brambly and herbal notes along with dark berries and cigar box/spices.

Palate of heavy dark berries, both red and black, a little oak and some more cinnamon and spice. 69% cab, 14% merlot, 11% cab franc and 6% petit verdot. A wonderful blend which I would love to try again in 5-6 years! I absolutely love the nose of this one, maybe a 98 for me? Palate score of 94 given its still youthful feel so averaging it out to a 96.

  • An astonishingly compelling nose, both floral and fruit-laden, with such intense black and red berry notes it was almost tactile. Rich and pure in the mouth, avoiding heaviness despite its 15%+ alcohol level, with graphite and spice joining seamlessly alongside the dark fruit flavors. Some notable minerality, too. 2-minute finish. The energy and sheer coherence of the wine astounds.
