Decanted. Rich nose of dark fruits... with same palate features - blueberry and blackberry. A little tartness add complexity. Long finish with a little residual tannins. Similar on day 2... if just a little muted versus day 1.
I had passed this bottle over in my cellar for a few years now. Last night I tried it and was very surprised at how good it was. I had low expectations going in, but this over delivered. For a 2009, the tannins were well integrated even though I poured in a decanter and started drinking as opposed to decanting several hours in advance. It had great cherry and oak flavors where the oak was not over the top and slightly toasted. You still have several more years on this bottle by my assessment.
