Community Tasting Notes (2)

  • Did purchase this on our last visit to Syncline (2011 or 2012?) but somehow neglected to enter into the database. Initially affeared that perhaps I had waited too long, but the first draft proved those fears groundless. Ever so slightly green in its pale yellow, the nose was elusive, with only a hint of those petroleum components common in the Austrian renditions, less oily on the palate too but with a bracing crispness and minerality. Very refreshing and lingering intensity. I dispute the previous TN that suggests this is "twice the cost" of an Austrian. Decent value I thought for the wine you got.

  • Pale gold color. Savory nose showing caraway seed, cut grass and even a bit of cured meat. Medium bodied wine with one dimensional citrus/grapefruit notes. Good acidity. On par with entry level Austrian GV, but twice the cost.
