Very pretty nose. Sensuous palate. Soft but inviting. Not a thinking wine at all but one to sup and enjoy. A crowd pleaser but an interesting one. Not sure about the Carmenere character as it seems a little international but still rather fun. Drink soon as the 2nd half the next night had faded: slightly stewed fruit.

This is the first time that I have drank a Carménère wine and was impressed with its deep crimson color and the nose of red fruits, spices and berries. It is a medium body wine, softer than a Cabernet and I found this particular wine to open up very quickly after decanting and ready to drink. The nose had a hint of red fruit like cherry, with smoky, spicy and earthy notes. With a hint of dark chocolate, tobacco, and leather, this wine tasted delicious and had a smooth finish that lingered.

This does not quite work for me. It is over-extracted, over-oaked, over-ripe, and a bit artificial in taste. It does, however, have somewhat pleasant aromas of black pepper, chocolate, and vegetables, but everything is over the top for my taste. It is much better on the 2nd day, though.

Definitely holds its own at $13. Hits with black fruit, chewy body w/ some bite, oak integration. Very versatile, too.

Very good. It's worth paying a bit more for their Max Carmenere, though, which puts this one in the shade.
