Fine, long and concentrated. Nice mix in between integrated oak, tertiary forest floor flavours and fruit. In a good spot right now and likely hitting its prime to keep for another 7-10 years

PnP'ed. Same striking nose that's just so pretty & haunting. Perhaps this still needed time/air - appeared a tad disjointed on the palate this time round (unlike the previous bottle just 2 weeks back). Sour (perhaps a tad too sourish) cherries, a bit of smoke with a long finish. Note to myself: let this air/stand for ~2hrs before serving...

Brought this for a "beat the 2000 Thibault Liger-Belair Richebourg" theme'd dinner. Popped, and stood for ~2hrs before serving (blinded), alongside a '11 H. Noellat RSV. These 2 were indeed a perfect pair - spellbinding noses! I'd put the Merme slightly ahead in the bouquet department. The olfactory fireworks it displayed on this evening was simply stunning - haunting, dark red-fruited, violets/roses, smoke, sandalwood, tinge of sous-bois... Just amazing! Equally delicious on the palate too - this was just so alive! Beautifully textured, this had power but exuded elegance too. There's just so much refinement here, can't wait to taste this again...

Candied red fruit, a bit lean for a grand cru. Quite enjoyable for the first two glasses but too sweet for me afterwards

Sweet, lacy, lychee, blue fruit, earthy, somewhat gamey. Lovely vintage fruit quality and abundance. 92
