Red fruit and roses of Pinot still clear, bright acid and wood spice and sandalwood. Clearly not burgundy but fresh and with great acid. It’s almost ageless, very little secondary, still bright fruit. Not sure what the point of ageing this is, bc it’s as great now as it was 20 yrs ago, but oddly, not better

Decanted about 2 hours. Just a touch of sediment. Medium color with a some amber tapering to a just slightly dusty edge. Glorious deep and complex nose with smoky Asian spices, dark dusty fruit and an earthy iron element. Rich and sweet on entry with good viscosity, the bright and vibrant flavors include black plum, cherry compote and a range of sweet and savory herbs and spices. Very long on the finish, this is "spot on" now and still quite solid. An American classic Pinot Noir and a stand-out even for Mount Eden. Drink now through 2016.

Decanted about an hour. Light to medium color with a hint of amber and a clear rim. Profound aromatics of deep, sweet fruit, spice, leather and savory herbs. Bright, focused red fruit greets the palate with a silky texture and lively, exotic flavors. Very harmonious and very much alive, this is a lovely Mount Eden Pinot with a possible up tick for the future. Drink now through 2014.

Pop and pour. Nice cherry, Hoisin nose. Somewhat lean on the palate but still in balance. Long finish. Gains weight with air but still somewhat lean. A food wine, but very enjoyable. This was my first old Mt. Eden. I wanted minerality like the Cab but this was not to be. Still good fruit and elegant. Drink now while it has fruit.
