  This was exceptional last night - a major hit of the evening. Was a magnum that we decanted for about an hour. Typical Hendry Cab but the age really brought out a beautiful perfume note on the nose, and the tannin was very well matured into a soft and round taste. Tasted like a slightly lower acidity and alcohol with this fair amount of age. Still the tell-tale Hendry black fruit and earth with blueberries, blackberries and currant. Beautiful wine.

  shared wit pat at selkirk manor. i continue to prune the cellar of bottles with expired drink by dates. i had been holding onto this bottle for sentimental reasons to remember George Hendry's annual visit to Stage Left Restaurant in 2013. fear of having kept the bottle too long was quickly swept away upon opening. the wine far outperformed expectations. beautiful presentation which reminds me of classified bordeaux. my palate does not allow me to be more specific. i have purchased many more recent vintages. wish i had done a vertical.

  Leather, blackberry, hints of vanilla n licorice n sweet tobacco. This winery n fruit is a hidden gem in Napa. This wine is probably peaking right now, but has life left, the tannins are still going strong.
  21 months on new French oak, 14.2%abv

  This guy is ready to go. Not over the hill yet but absolutely mature, especially in smaller formats. Dusty and deep.

  A little heat on the nose, Plum, jam, and a bit of tannins. Nice, pleasant, drinking wine. Will age well for a few more years. This was a 375.
