2nd time drinking this wine. 1 bottle drunk in France and this bottle drunk in the USA. There is so much hype behind this wine given miniscule production and traditional character. It’s a good wine. Not flashy and seemingly honest. However, it is not extremely complex and arguably lacking energy and refinement. Price tag is far too high in the USA.

Nice, old-style wine, lighter-bodied and mineral/sanguine. Intense and reminds me of wines I was drinking when I first got into wine. I read one article that claimed the reason for declassification was acetic acid...which I can *sort of* see, but it's really not that prominent, and in any case is not as much a problem as the faultiness of many of the more modern Bdx which are hollow and dead.

1 hectare large apparently. The NYT did an article how people are not making Bordeaux like this anymore. Beautiful, extra-ordinary nose. Leafy, graphite, darn, such a rich wonderful expression of Cabernet. Bottled by hand, one guy doing it all. Very hard on the back end of the palate, great stuff.
When the NYT article came out his neighbors were mad and rejected him from the appellation. With the 2008 they claimed he used too much new oak (he uses none) and kicked him out of the appellation.
This is amazing Bordeaux.
