Very sweet. Black fruit leads, some red fruits, plenty of acid to back it up, all nicely balanced. Bare hint of reductiveness. Secondary flavors just beginning to emerge. Amazingly youthful for a 12-year old wine. While my taste lately is inclining away from the ripeness of California Pinots, there's a lot of pleasure here. Drink the next in a year or two.
Still a tasty wine - opened as a recent reviewer suggested it was "over the hill". I did not get that impression at all. Of course it did show some age but clearly a fine and mature wine. Also happy my basement cellar once again proved its worth as I purchased this wine around 8 years ago.
