14.2% alcohol. Almost nine years after the last note, and this wine is showing marvelously. The color is a translucent red cherry. The nose was not giving much at first, but by the second glass, it started moving, and by the third pour? It was soaring. A beautiful, refined, elegant expression of red cherry fruit, baking spice, and flowers. In the mouth, this certainly has a more mature mouth feel, but the wine doesn't feel old at all. The cherry fruit is on point, like a laser, and the mouth feel is pure velvet. No reason to wait on these, unless you want to see how much secondary expression may come. But this is just a joy right now. A-/A

Popped and poured. Cranberry, pine needles and spice on the nose. Pleasantly austere and not your typical sweet fruit bomb from RRV. Holding up really well at 15 Years, I’m going to try an SVD next to see how it’s holding up.

Very sweet. Black fruit leads, some red fruits, plenty of acid to back it up, all nicely balanced. Bare hint of reductiveness. Secondary flavors just beginning to emerge. Amazingly youthful for a 12-year old wine. While my taste lately is inclining away from the ripeness of California Pinots, there's a lot of pleasure here. Drink the next in a year or two.

Best within the first 45 minutes. Leaning toward sweetish initially, then becoming more musty. Drink in the short term.
