  • Really nice. This has developed nicely since the last bottle I had, with little notes of petroleum drifting amidst honeyed tones, then pears and candied apples, maybe a touch of floral white peach, and just a little squeeze of sweet citrus and a kiss of chalky mineral. Very Mosel, and quite attractive. The palate was delightful, if a bit primary still, with gobs of juicy acidity enlivening lovely pure flavours of red apples and sweet pears, just a hint of sweeter nectarines and peaches, and then a squeeze of ripe lemons. Rock melon on the midpalate I thought. It had a nice finish too, with a lick of minerality around the edges. For the first time in years, this seems to be coming together slightly. So very good now, but with its best years still way ahead of it yet. With the ripe fruit and bright acidity of the 2010 vintage, this will last for decades.

  • Dim Sum Club at Kingyo (Kingyo Izakaya, Telok Ayer Street): Good stuff. Too young even after a few years from the last bottle - it is getting there though. The nose had a lovely melange of sweet stone fruits, honey and flowers. The palate is just starting to come around, with juicy acidity and good sense of structure wrapped around a lovely pure core of stone fruit - peaches and nectarines - bedded down on a nice stream of minerality. The finish had just a tiniest little twist of spice and another lovely bursts of lemony acidity. Really yummy, but it needs at least 4-5 years more.

  • Prior bottle was almost 10 months to the day ago and the wine seems unsurprisingly nearly identical. Opened at 46F, warming to 50F and at first I thought it might be a little cool, but it control some of the sweetness, just enough to allow the orchard fruit to be more expressive. Very pretty nose of crystalline peach, pear, melon and floral notes. Remains medium bodied with the same mix of peach and pear, evolving to apricot and orange, finishing with citrus, green apple and lemon. The acidity isn't full bore the way it is with the 2015s currently, but it provides excellent contrast and overall structure and helps to bring out the fruit notes both upfront and through the finish. Should continue to evolve positively for several more years with a long life ahead. Wish I had more.

  • Keller Open Afterparty (Weingut Keller): From Magnum. Grünhaus definitely winning this first flight of three Spätlese from the 2010 vintage. So delicate, fine but super precise and with a lot of tension. Great acidity kick. Almost floating. Grünhaus has a very unique style you immediately recognize from the first nose and sip. A wonderful wine with lots of potential left for a long life.
